Makeup Artist Kit Essentials:: Disposables

Hi Everyone

In order to keep you work spotless and clean as makeup artist, you need disposables. Disposables are meant to be used once and tossed.They help to sanitize makeup application and also speed up work. Before i got started as a makeup artist , i used to wonder how i would apply lip gloss with with same wand on multiple persons but after a thorough research from other bloggers i bump into disposable makeup items. And so far i'm loving them.

Come with me .....

Mascara Wands -  As a makeup artist, your kit is incomplete without this. The brush that comes with the mascara should never be used  unless you're planning on  giving  the mascara out to your client. Otherwise a mascara wand should do the trick. One wand for each person to avoid double dipping. They come in a curved or straight head.

Lip Brush - Using a lip brush is very necessary however, if you doing a big gig and your lip brushes are just not enough, using a disposable lip brush comes in handy. After usage , you just toss it.

Lip Gloss Wand - Never use the wand that comes with the lip gloss as you risk contaminating the product with time. Instead put the lip gloss wand at the back of your palm or palette and with the disposable, apply the gloss on your client's lips. Never double dip.

Eye Liner Wand - Honestly,  I have never tried using them although i have a bunch of them in my kit. I have a gig coming up and so i intend to try it during the makeup trial .

Q-Tips -  These items are no joke. I use them to clean up the lower lash area after mascara application. To get excess lash glue after application and also clean up the lip after lipstick application. They come in pointed and somewhat 'roundish' forms , but all work very well. Using it to clean eyeshadow edges is also very effective.

Q- Tips

Makeup Wipes - A clean face before makeup application can never be over estimated. Makeup wipes or some baby wipes like Johnson and Johnson works very well.

Wedges or Sponges - They're the same just different names. Sponges are the makeup artist's friend. They can be used in foundation and concealer application, powder application under the eyes and the likes. I personally quite often use my sponges for moisturizer and primer application. I also use it damped for foundation application.

Powder Puff - Great for applying powder and touch-ups. I always give each client the puff i use on their face as a gift.
So there you are....the advantages of using disposables in makeup application is innumerable and keep your art spotlessly need!
Hope you enjoy!

  2. Hey :)
    I hope you can help me out, where do you get your disposable lip brushes? Could you give me a link? I live in Hungary, a small country in Europe and we don't really have these disposable brushes here, well at least I haven't found them anywhere. These brushes you have look like the ones they use at M.A.C stores so it'd be nice to have brushes like those :)
    Thank you so much!!!
    XO :)
