Hi Everyone,
I'm back again with another post on makeup must-have for people just starting out . I get some friends asking me lots of questions about what to get for their makeup kit in terms of faces, eyes and lips.
Every woman wants to look beautiful and flawless all the time. Wearing the right makeup and getting it right with the products goes a long way to boost one's confidence. So I have decided to take you on a quick ride through what I call the ABC of starting out on your personal makeup journey. And its all about the must-have products that you need to pull off that neutral & subtle look for work, that gorgeous look for special occasions and that sensual pretty look for parties. These are just my recommendations though and I will take it in three episodes:
1. Must - Haves : Face Products
2. Must - Haves : Eyes and Brow Products
3. Must - Haves : Lips Products
So let's get started on episode one..............
1. MUST - HAVES : FACE PRODUCTS
Various Skin Care Products |
- Moisturizer - It's an important product you
wouldn't want to miss in your daily makeup application . There are so
many reasons why you need to moisturize your skin before you apply
anything. Amongst others, moisturizing plumps the skin tissues with
moisture, minimizes the appearance of fine lines and
provides a barrier between the skin and makeup cosmetics. And you should always pick something
that is suitable for your skin type. I recommend Cetaphil, Nivea soft lotion.
Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream |
- Primer - It helps your foundation go on evenly and makes it last longer. I recommend is Rimmel , Hard Candy.
Rimmel foundation primer - Eye Cream - The tissue around the eye area is very thin and sensitive therefore special care must be taken when applying products near the area. The eye cream aids the concealer to go on smoothly. I can recommend Nivea Q10 , MAC fast response eye cream
- Concealer - They go a long way to cover any skin imperfections like dark under-eye circles, acne spot etc. Get a shade that is 1 to 2 shades lighter than your skin tone. I strongly recommend Eve Pearl's salmon concealers - U never go wrong with that.
- Foundations - These are applied to produce an even skin tone to disguise any skin blemishes. Could be available in liquid, cream, gel or mousse. Get a foundation that complement your skin undertone. You may also want to get one that is 1 to 2 shades darker than your skin tone for contouring and the reverse for highlighting. I recommend Eve Pearl's dual foundation , Graftobian HD, MAC studio fix.
- Powders - They are used to set the foundation . It could be loosed or pressed. Select a matte powder for a day time makeup and an iridescent for a night time look. I recommend Graftobian HD Powders , MAC presses powders.
- Blusher/ Bronzers - They add warmth to the face and emphasizes the facial contours. It could be powder or cream. Get one suitable for your skin tone. I recommend Eve Pearl's trio.
- You may want to consider some facial sprays like fix +, it helps to set the whole makeup and the longevity of the makeup.
